2014 Bully Fire Suspect Arrested

The man accused of sparking a massive wildfire in Shasta County in 2014, has been arrested in Indiana. 39-year-old Freddie Smoke the Third is accused of starting the Bully Fire when he drove a rental truck into dry grass near Ono in July of 2014. The fire destroyed 20 structures. Smoke apparently was delivering fertilizer to a illegal marijuana grow. The fire burned over 12,600 acres and caused the death of 35-year-old Jesus Arellano Garcia who was a Mexican citizen. Garcia was apparently trying to escape the flames and his body was found several days later inside the fire zone. Smoke was arrested and felony charges were filed against him, but he posted bail and fled the area. His bail had been set at One Million Dollars. Cal-Fire and other agencies have been trying to locate him ever since. Smoke was located Tuesday morning by the Hammond, Indiana SWAT Team in East Chicago, Indiana. He will be extradited back to Shasta County to face charges that include involuntary manslaughter.
