The name has been released of the driver killed in a fiery head-on crash a couple of miles east of Bella Vista Monday. A little after 10:30AM a Dodge Charger driven by 36-year-old Morgan Orsag was westbound on Highway 299 when he decided to pass two passenger cars and a big rig, according to the CHP. It was too late when Orsag saw an eastbound Saturn Ion driven by 43-year-old Ryan Thomas. Both drivers tried to avoid a collision by steering onto the shoulder and that’s where they met. The Saturn was smashed and caught fire. By the time fire rescue personnel got the car opened up with jaws of life, Thomas was deceased. Orsag suffered a broken foot, lacerations to his hands and broken teeth. Both men are from Bella Vista. The CHP has found no evidence of drugs or alcohol. The highway was closed for about 3 hours.
