Over 800 Pounds Of Pot Seized In Siskiyou County

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Marijuana Team had their biggest day of the season last Wednesday. 2 search warrants were served in the Butte Valley Area, one on Homeland Road and one on Lazy Ranch Road. A total of 1484 very high yield marijuana plants were seized, along with 867 pounds of processed bud. The team couldn’t fit all the pot in their trucks and trailers and had to call public works for an additional dump truck and trailer. Seven people were detained and later released pending charges from the D.A.’s Office. The CHP continues to try and kill the county’s plants through thirst by stopping water trucks. Last week 7 water trucks were stopped, six of them were taken out of service and 24 citations were written. The marijuana team has another stack of search warrants to process for this week.  Siskiyou County has been extra aggressive about marijuana busts since the passage of their new ordinance that completely forbids growing marijuana outside.
