A man has been found dead at a Siskiyou County logging site. At 2 O’clock Friday afternoon the Sisiyou County Sheriff’s Office was told of the unconscious and unresponsive man in a remote area of Grider Creek between Seiad Valley and Happy Camp. Life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem exam is pending to determine the cause of death. The sheriff’s office hasn’t said if it appears to be natural causes or an industrial accident. The deceased man has been identified as 69-year-old Edward Heinecke.
