Corning Man Sentenced To 13 Year

A Corning man has gotten a lengthy sentence for home invasion robberies. 22-year-old Christian Macedo and another man went into a home where several people were hanging out and robbed them at gunpoint. Macedo demanded jewelry and other valuables and said he would shoot them if they didn’t give it up. It was so easy Macedo went back a few days later to do it again. That time he didn’t get any goods but he did end up shooting one of the victims in the arm. In April Corning Police raided the Toomes Avenue home of Christian’s brother Cesar Macedo. There was a lengthy standoff until eventually Macedo’s dog charged an officer and the dog was shot. The shots fired prompted action from other officers, who rushed at Macedo and subdued him with the use of a taser and batons. Officers expected to find Christian there but were disappointed. He was captured in May and was sentenced last week to 13 years in state prison.
