A trial has been delayed for a 31-year-old man accused of “vehicular murder”. In February of last year 77-year-old Wallace Shelton of Anderson pulled his Ford pickup away from the stop sign at Thomas Road and onto Southbound Highway 273 directly into the path of Tyler Schweizer of Redding, who was allegedly driving his Chevy pickup at 99 miles an hour. He struck the drivers side door of the Ford forcing both vehicles into the northbound lanes. Shelton died of his injuries the following day. Schweizer has a history of bad driving, including multiple DUI’s. Schweizer’s trial was set for the end of November. The defense said they need more time to prepare so the trial is now set for February 28th.
