A reward is available for the capture of a homeless couple who seriously beat up a local transgender man with a rock. In the middle of the night on September 30th, Redding Police were called to Mercy Medical Center. The unidentified victim had serious head injuries. He said that he and 2 other transients were under the Canyon Hollow Creek Bridge of Eastside Road near Breslauer Way. They had been drinking beer and the 2 companions wanted him to go buy more beer for them, but he refused. After he lay down and went to sleep he was hit in the head with a rock at least three times before the man and woman robbed him of the money in his pockets while calling him derogatory names related to his transgender status. That makes it a possible hate crime, according to Redding Police. The male suspect, whose name is Ron, is a white man in his 40’s, 5-Foot-8 and 155 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and tattoos on his left arm. The female suspect, whose name is Sherry, is a white woman in her 30’s, 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds with dirty blonde hair and green eyes. 500 Dollars is available for anonymous tips at 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com.
