A lockdown was ordered at Cypress Elementary School in Redding Tuesday morning while police searched for a vandal with a hatchet. The suspect had apparently vandalized the DMV office across the street from the school and was seen just after 7AM walking around with a hatchet in his hand. Officers combed the area but did not find the suspect and the lockdown was lifted about a half-hour after it began.
