A new casino may soon be coming to South Redding next to Interstate Five. The Redding Rancheria has petitioned federal and state officials to build the new 140,000 square foot casino and and a 250-room hotel, along with a convention center near the South Bonnyview exit. The new complex would replace the Win-River Casino and Hotel on Highway 273 which would be converted to a different use, according to a public notice from the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs. The notice says that the bureau is preparing an environmental impact statement and will hold a public meeting at the McLaughlin Auditorium on December 21st to discuss its findings. Public comment can also be submitted through email at email@example.com. Those comments are due by December 29th.
