A man was shot dead by Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies in Douglas City Thursday afternoon, according to the Trinity Journal. Just before 4 O’clock deputies were dispatched to the Indian Creek Trailer Park on a report that a man was forcing a woman into a car at gunpoint. When deputies arrived and ordered the man to show his hands he ran to a car. Deputies believed that he was retrieving a gun from the car and as he stood back up deputies opened fire. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
