The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man who was shot to death last Friday at an apartment complex in Redding. 44-year-old Dan Fern Bissell of Quincy was found dead at the Bechelli Oaks Apartments on Layton Road just after 7AM. While enroute officers were told by dispatchers that 2 males could be heard on the 911 call arguing. The caller said a man was outside of his apartment and was armed with a knife. A short time later, before officers got there, a gunshot was heard by dispatchers and the caller said he had shot the other man. the name of the shooter has not been released, but he was cooperative with investigators. An autopsy is planned for this week.
