A Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered major injuries after rolling his patrol vehicle Friday morning, according to the CHP. The unidentified deputy was driving southbound on Highway 273 about 5:40AM Friday when for unknown reasons the marked patrol vehicle veered off the west side of the highway just south of Jacqueline Street. The deputy was headed to a domestic violence call on Olinda Road. The Ford Explorer struck a power pole and rolled over several times. The 39-year-old deputy was ejected and sustained non life threatening major injuries. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Both southbound lanes were closed for the investigation and they re-opened just before 10AM.
