The City of Redding is about to get a new City Manager, at least temporarily. Current City Manager Kurt Starman will retire on May 19th, and a nationwide search has been underway to find a replacement. However, it is unlikely that a successor will be found by that date. So the Redding City Council is expected to name current Assistant City Manager Barry Tippin as the Interim City Manager at its meeting on Tuesday night. Tippin, who also serves as the Director of the Redding Electric Utility, would receive a temporary five percent raise in pay if appointed.
