A fire broke out in the kitchen of a Hilltop Drive Japanese restaurant Tuesday morning. A little before 9AM Redding Fire Department was called to Tokyo Garden. Firefighters managed to keep the fire damage confined to the kitchen area, though smoke was thick throughout the restaurant, as well as the Sweet Spot candy shop next door. Firefighters used fans to clear the smoke. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
