Anybody who has bought gas recently with a credit card at either of a couple of gas stations in Cottonwood had better check their bill. An estimated $40,000 worth of fraudulent charges have occurred to an unknown number of victims after they purchased gas at the Gas Plus Market on Main Street and the Holiday Market on Gas Point Road. It’s believed that somebody acquired the credit card information by using some sort of card reader or copier installed on the pumps, without the knowledge of the gas station operators. Anyone who bought gas in the past month at these stations should carefully review their charges.
