Teens Arrested After Leading Officers On High Speed Chase

A 15-year-old girl led officers on a high speed chase from Anderson to Redding early Saturday morning. At 3:37AM the girl and her companion, a 15-year-old boy, allegedly committed a robbery at the Anderson Wal-Mart and struck an employee on the way out of the parking lot. Responding officers spotted the 2006 Chevy Malibu and gave chase. The pursuit reached over 90 miles an hour northbound on Highway 273, then continued east on South Bonnyview. Several spike strips were used along the way. While making a left turn onto Churn Creek Road, the girl lost control of the car and got high-centered on the concrete center divider. The girl jumped out and ran but she was taken down by Chance the K-9. She had apparently stolen the car from her mother. Both teens were booked into Juvenile Hall.
