Anyone with an opinion about the new Costco to be developed at South Bonnyview and Bechelli may want to attend a planning commission meeting Tuesday. Public comments will be gathered concerning the project’s environmental impact report. The “River Crossing Marketplace” is slated for a 25 acre wooded area just west of the freeway. It would include a 152,000 square foot Costco store with up to 30 fuel pumps, as well as another 70,000 square feet of other retail and restaurant space. A consulting firm hired by the city will give a presentation. This project is unrelated to another large development planned just across the freeway that will be anchored by a Sav-Mor. The meeting on the Costco project will be at 4 O’clock Tuesday in the Redding City Council Chambers.
