A big Independence Day community picnic in Downtown Redding is open to everybody and nobody needs to pay. The annual July 4th picnic is at the First United Methodist Church at the corner of East and South Streets. The event begins at 10AM and runs to 2PM. There’s no admission charge and all the food is free. Those who wish to volunteer can call Don Yost at 241-8421.
