A man was stabbed and another man was arrested as a result of a fight in South City Park Wednesday morning. A little after 10am medics and Redding Police were called to the park next to the Redding Library. Both men are apparently homeless and have had ongoing issues with each other. 36-year-old Kyle York suffered a serious stab wound to his upper left leg that was bleeding badly. At last word he was in stable condition at a hospital. 51-year-old Scott Smith of Susanville was being held by other homeless people in the park until police arrived. He had a minor injury to his ear and claimed York had attacked him last week and again Wednesday. Witnesses to the fight gave conflicting accounts. Smith was booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
