Crime in Redding will be addressed at a special forum hosted the Redding City Council on Thursday. There will be a presentation about public safety ordinances and an overview of impacts resulting from legislation in recent years, including AB-109 and Propositions 47 and 57. The floor will then open to the public for comments, questions, suggestions and undoubtedly some scathing criticism of whomever is perceived as responsible for Redding crime. The meeting is set for this Thursday from 4PM to 7PM in the council chambers. The meeting will be livestreamed on the Internet at cityofredding.org under “meetings and agendas”. Comments and questions can be submitted prior to the event by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org . Those emails must be sent by 5 O’clock Tuesday afternoon.
