A State of Emergency has been declared for Butte County as crews are battling several large wildfires. The wind driven blazes have forced many evacuations. The Honey Fire southwest of Paradise is 90 acres and 30% contained. Forward spread has been stopped. The Cherokee Fire burning north of Oroville is 7500 acres with 40% containment. The La Porte Fire near Bangor has burned 3500 acres with a mere 5% containment. Farther south in Yuba County, the Cascade Fire, near Loma Lica has burned 8200 acres with just 10% containment.
