It’s been a while, but the Redding Merchants Crime Watch will be meeting next week. The private business owner’s organization was formed to find ways of eliminating crime, panhandling and vagrancy in the Hilltop/Dana Business District, but it has since spread to include businesses all over town. The meeting will feature an introduction of City Manager Barry Tippin and Police Chief Roger Moore, as well as an update from Sheriff Tom Bosenko and possibly the district attorney’s office. There will be plenty of time for questions and public discussion of issues as well. The meeting is Monday the 16th at 4 O’clock at the Red Lion Hotel. The meeting is open to everyone.
