Redding Police searched Tuesday night for a man after he gave an 11-year-old girl the creeps. Officers were called just before 10 O’clock to an apartment building on Delta Street near Caldwell Park. The girl had been attending a church event and was dropped off at a nearby bus stop. As she was walking home a man tried to call her over to his parked vehicle. She ran home instead and her mother called the police. The girl described a white man in his 50’s with a dark complexion, a brown beard and mustache and long wavy brown hair. He was driving a dark gray SUV, possibly a GMC Envoy or something similar. It apparently has no license plates. Police took the encounter seriously and would like to talk to the man.
