An alleged thief was caught Sunday night with goods from multiple thefts. Friday night Ismael Herrera got off work at his job on Hilltop Drive and discovered he had left his car unlocked and someone had taken his wallet from the glovebox. There were two credit cards in the wallet which had been used several times that afternoon to make more than $700 worth of purchases at the Mount Shasta Mall. Sunday morning a Ford Ranger pickup was stolen from Hemingway Street and that same truck was spotted by an officer at 9 O’clock Sunady night in the Wal-Mart parking lot. A man was sitting in the truck and when he saw the officer he got out and started to walk away. 26-year-old Joshua Ellis was taken into custody at gunpoint. In the truck officers found Herrera’s things, including his wallet and credit cards. They also reported finding more than 20 hypodermic syringes with heroin residue.
