Man Sentenced To 10 Years In State Prison

A 66-year-old Red Bluff man has been sentenced for a variety of offenses. In one incident Melvin Wilson was with three other people in a stolen car. A 44 caliber revolver was sitting on the passenger seat and Wilson said he was in the process of purchasing it from one of the other men. Wilson was already a convicted felon and therefore forbidden from possessing a gun. On another occasion, Tehama Interagency Drug Enforcement agents searched his home and found a safe containing a half ounce of Methamphetamine. Another set of offenses started when Wilson vandalized a woman’s car and her daughter confronted him about it. He told her she would have to meet up with him later to discuss it or he would hurt her family. She agreed out of fear to meet with him, at which time he said he would kill her family unless she had sex with him. Melvin Wilson was arrested for his crimes on July 20th. He’s been sentenced to ten years in state prison.
