A lot of bicycles get stolen in Redding, and the police often recover stolen bikes with no way of knowing to whom they belong, or even if they’re stolen at all. Now there’s a quick and easy way to increase the chances of getting a bicycle back if it happens to get wheeled away. After a suggestion by the local bicycle advocacy group Ride Redding, the Redding Police Department is now enrolled with the National Bike Registry. A link to register bikes can be found at reddingpolice.org . This is one of several ideas out of the community that have been pursued by Redding Police, and they welcome suggestions for ways to better serve the citizens of Redding.
