May is Mental Health Month and one of the events happening this Saturday is the “Minds Matter” Mental Health Resource Fair and Music Festival. It’s a chance for people to connect with more than 40 exhibitors with local resources that provide mental health and wellness services, and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and suicide. The 11th annual event is free, sponsored by Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency, and takes place at the Atrium and Market Street Promenade. It’s an information fair from Noon to 3, and then music from 3PM to 5PM with local headliners Cold Sweat and the Buckhorn Mountain Stompers, as well as the folk band Birdfeeder and the Roaring Creek Powwow Dancers. It’s a family event and it’s all free.
