Police are investigating after a young teenager reported being accosted by a mysterious man Thursday afternoon in East Redding. At around 3:30PM, a 14-year-old girl said she was walking from the Circle K at Hartnell and Churn Creek toward Enterprise High School when a man grabbed her by the arm as she walked past him. She said she fought back and the man let go, so she finished walking to school and eventually contacted Redding Police. She described her assailant as a white man about 5-foot-8 with tanned skin, short dark hair and a stubble beard. Anyone who saw anything suspicious along Churn Creek Road Thursday is urged to contact Redding Police at 225-4200. Investigators plan to collect video surveillance from the area in hopes of seeing something.
