A probationer stopped Wednesday morning thought he was faster than a police officer, but he learned otherwise. At around 9:15AM the man, identified as 40-year-old Nathan Peterson, was riding a bicycle on Collyer Drive near Churn Creek Road when an officer tried to stop him for a minor traffic violation, according to Redding Police Sergeant Gary Meadows. He says Peterson immediately fled on foot, jumping a fence and running across a field toward Highway 299. The officer caught up and tackled Peterson. When he was searched, he was allegedly found in possession of Methamphetamine. Peterson was booked into jail for possession of Meth, resisting arrest and a probation violation.
