LoJack Anti-Theft Device Helps Officers Recover 2 Stolen Cars

One thing led to another in a stolen car investigation Friday night. At around 8 O’clock Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies on Highway 44 at Shasta View got an alert about a nearby stolen vehicle equipped with the Lojack anti-theft system. An RPD Officer was able to track the signal to the Hampton Inn on Larkspur Lane. 21-year-old Matthew Connor was still with the car and he was arrested. Officers noticed that a car parked in the very next space was also stolen, so they looked around. Soon after, 27-year-old Jonathan Pry walked out of the hotel, and officers knew he was wanted on a burglary warrant. In his pocket he allegedly had the key to the second stolen car and a key to a room, where officers found 35-year-old Kelly Harney. Police say evidence linked all three to the stolen cars and they were all booked into jail.
