A Siskiyou County woman who was missing and believed to be in danger has been found alive and well, but some questions remain. 24-year-old Courtney Culver of Happy Camp was reported missing by her mother last Thursday. She had left for Eureka with her ex-boyfriend, Terrance McCovey, and was expected home 5 days earlier. A missing persons bulletin was sent out and on Friday an off-duty Eureka Police employee spotted her Ford Escape in a hotel parking lot in Santa Rosa. When officers questioned the couple, Culver insisted she was not being held against her will and both of them were eventually released, though McCovey was cited for an unrelated warrant. Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey says detectives are still looking into a report that Culver’s family had received a text message demanding a ransom for her return. Tips can be provided to 841-2900.
