Another local police dog has died. The Redding Police Department has announced that retired K9 Chyr passed away this week.Chyr and his handler, Officer Nick Weaver, served the citizens of Redding from November 0f 2012 to April of this year. During that time, Chyr located hundreds of violent criminals and was assigned to the department’s SWAT Team. After Chyr’s retirement, Officer Weaver was assigned to the investigation division.
