A young teenager got the worst part of someone else’s mistake Monday afternoon. A little before 4 O’clock the boy, believed to be 13-years-old, was walking home from school and was waiting to cross the street at the southbound onramp to Interstate Five from Twin View Boulevard. That’s when the driver of a small SUV tried to make a quick left turn onto the onramp and was broadsided by an oncoming pickup truck. That pushed the SUV up over the curb where the boy was standing. He was apparently pinned under the vehicle for a short time but was freed before fire and medical personnel arrived. he apparently suffered a lower leg injury, possibly a fracture, and he was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Traffic was diverted for more than an hour from the undercrossing.
