A collision at Cypress Avenue and Churn Creek Road in East Redding became a chain reaction that ended up involving eight different vehicles. It was around 2:15PM Thursday afternoon, and began with 24-year-old River Smith running a red light in an Acura SUV, according to Redding Police. Smith was arrested for felony driving under the influence of drugs. He was taken to jail and three people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries. Everyone was wearing seatbelts.
