The south side of the parking structure on California Street in Downtown Redding will soon be demolished, but not before one more bit of drama over the weekend. At around 4 O’clock Sunday afternoon a Pontiac G6 was speeding through the upper level of the lot when the driver lost control and the car collided with a Ford F-250 that was parked. The Pontiac was pinned beneath the big pickup, possibly the only thing keeping the car from tumbling onto the sidewalk below as the front part of the car and the rear of the truck were both hanging over the edge. Witnesses said four people got out of the Pontiac and ran away. The car is registered to Sarah Frederick of Redding. Police have not said if they’ve been able to contact her yet.
