CHP: Teens Suffer Major Injuries In Crash Near Gerber

Two teenagers were badly hurt in a crash with a bus in Tehama County Tuesday morning. According to the CHP, just before 8AM, a 17-year-old Los Molinos boy was driving a 1990 Ford Mustang east on Gerber Road, approaching the intersection with Highway 99W. The Mustang driver apparently ran the stop sign and was hit by a northbound Ford transit bus, being driven by 68-year-old Steven Darrough of Red Bluff. He and three passengers were injured and taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. The driver of the Mustang and his 14-year-old passenger from Gerber were ejected from the car and had major injuries.
