A man running around in the middle of a busy Redding street Sunday morning with a baton-like item was arrested after Redding Police used several methods to subdue him. Officers Kyle Corrigan, Travis Williams and Otto the K9 were dispatched just before 9AM to South Market Street at Angelo Street. 25-year-old Patrick Wilson was swinging around a police-style expandable metal baton until he saw police, and then he ran. The officers used their cars to corral Wilson in an open field as he continued to run around the cars swinging the baton. Officers say he appeared to be on stimulant drugs. He would not follow directions, so the officers used pepper spray and a Taser before Otto took Wilson down. After a hospital visit, Wilson was booked into jail for resisting arrest using violence, brandishing a deadly weapon at police and possessing a deadly weapon.
