Covid-19 Surges

Shasta County is reporting another death from Covid-19. The fifth fatality in the county is a woman in her 70s. There have been 157 cases in Shasta County after 3 more were reported Monday. They’re all women, one in her 20s, one in her 60s and one in her 70s, and they all have symptoms. 91 of the patients have been people under the age of 50, who can easily carry the virus to their elderly loved ones and other vulnerable people. There are 30 patients isolated with the virus and 5 are hospitalized, including one from out of the county. 3 patients are in the ICU. 183 people are quarantined due to possible exposure.
Butte County reported7 new cases Tuesday for a total of 275. Tehama County is up to 88. Glenn County has had a huge surge to 122, placing it on the list of counties that the governor has ordered back on restricted openings. Lassen County has reported 16 cases in the community, in addition to 226 in the prison population. Siskiyou County has had 32. There have been 144 in Humboldt County. Trinity County is still reporting 2 cases, and there are still none confirmed in Modoc County.
