A Yreka man is not likely the most popular person in Siskiyou County Jail after reportedly breaking into the Hornbrook Volunteer Fire Station Monday. Medical supplies and rescue equipment were stolen, including a “Jaws of Life” tool worth about $8,700. An investigation led deputies to a home in Hornbrook, where they arrested 34-year-old Bret Adam Pettey, still in possession of the equipment. Pettey also had outstanding felony warrants from Yreka Police and the State of Washington. A female suspected accomplice will likely be charged later.
