A Redding teenager is going to prison for a domestic violence incident earlier this year. On the evening of May 14th, a victim on Delta Street near Caldwell Park called the RPD to report that her ex-boyfriend, 19-year-old Richard Anthony Pangelina, had assaulted her and left on foot. He was found near the baseball fields a short distance away with a loaded 45 caliber handgun in his waistband. Pangelina was already on probation for possession of a concealed firearm, and his ex-girlfriend had a restraining order against him. On Wednesday Pangelina pled no contest to assault with a gun, corporal injury to a child’s parent and strangulation. He was given a state prison sentence of 10 years.
