A motorcyclist who was badly hurt in a crash in North Redding left behind some trouble when he was hospitalized, according to police. Just before 5PM Saturday afternoon, 34-year-old Jacob Pearson of Shasta Lake City was riding a Suzuki at high speed westbound on Lake Boulevard when 28-year-old Stephanie Stearns in a Toyota Corolla pulled out from St Marks Street into the path of the bike. Pearson hit the rear driver side of the car and was ejected. He was taken to Mercy Hospital with major injuries. Stearns was uninjured. Her 7-year-old was in a safety seat in the rear of the car and sustained minor injuries. Police went through the wreckage of Pearson’s motorcycle and reported finding a 45 caliber handgun, ammunition, and Methamphetamine. Pearson was too badly injured to tell if he was under the influence. Lake Boulevard was blocked for about an hour.
