9AM Thursday: 2 Additional COVID-19 Deaths Reported In Shasta County

Covid has claimed the lives of two more Shasta County residents, a woman in her 70’s and a man in his 80’s, bringing the death toll to 166. Another 62 cases were confirmed, as well as 627 negative tests. The total number of cases so far is 10,687. An estimated 245 people have the virus right now, 20 of them hospitalized and 4 in intensive care.

Tehama County has reported 4,883 cases and 48 deaths.
There have been 320 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,643 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 13 deaths.
Butte County has reported 148 deaths among their 10,404 cases.
Lassen County has had 17 deaths among their 1,992 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,506 cases in prison.
Glenn County has had 2,089 cases and 23 deaths.
Humboldt County has had 2,976 cases and 32 deaths.
Modoc County has had 439 cases and 4 deaths.

The county adjusted case rate has dropped from 25 to 23 daily cases per 100,000 residents. The unadjusted case rate was 20.2, but it was bumped up because of the county’s low per capita testing volume. The positivity rate increased from 4.9% to 5.5%.

Shasta County residents who got the first dose of vaccine January 16th can get the next shot at a mass clinic at the fairgrounds in Anderson this Saturday (2/13). Check specific times at .
