Investigators Say Fatal Stabbing May Have Been In Self Defense

A man arrested for a murder in Dunsmuir has been released from custody. Around 1AM on February 18th medical help and Siskiyou County Deputies were called to a location on Dunsmuir Avenue. 44-year-old Craigory Olson had been stabbed and he died at the scene. The suspect was quickly identified as 25-year-old Christopher Michael Castillo, originally from Humboldt County, who goes by the name “Shiva”. Castillo had fled on foot. Someone reported seeing Castillo near I-5 just south of town and he was quickly captured and booked into jail. Sheriff’s detectives have been investigating the possibility that the stabbing was done in self defense.
