Redding Electric Utility has restored a power to a large area of East Redding that went dark overnight. The outage affected customers from Tarmac Road south to Preserve and east of Goodwater to the city limits including the Highway 44 Old Oregon Trail area. Equipment malfunction apparently caused the power to go out at around 11PM Wednesday night. Repairs were complete by 5AM.
