Shasta County Sees Spike In COVID-19 Cases Among The Unvaccinated

Shasta County is experiencing a COVID-19 surge. Even with the greatly reduced numbers of people getting tested, another 73 new cases were reported on Monday, as well as the death of a man in his 80s. There are 38 people hospitalized right now with Covid. The Delta Variant is spreading quickly among the unvaccinated population, and Shasta County has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the state. Testing is done at the Boggs Building on Breslauer Monday through Friday from 9:30AM to 5:30PM. A vaccine clinic is open at the Redding Senior Center on Benton Drive each Friday through Sunday from 10AM to 7PM, with other options available at myturn.ca.gov.
