The Shasta County Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution to officially oppose state-imposed Covid vaccine mandates, but they’ve decided not to send a letter to the Governor, because they don’t think he would be swayed by the opinions of those in Shasta County. The resolution says the board agrees with the scientific data showing vaccines to be safe and effective, and they want it available to anyone eligible to receive it. However, the resolution also states the board’s conviction that the choice to be vaccinated remain with each individual, regardless of their employment situation or their exposure to others. A special meeting about vaccine mandates that would have been next Tuesday afternoon has been indefinitely postponed due to the danger of spreading the virus.
