Growth On Klamath Lightning Fires Slows Substantially, Winds Are Forecast For Friday

The River Complex in Klamath National Forest is now 189,000 acres and containment is at 40%. Evacuation orders are in effect for Callahan, Mosquito Lake, Eagle Creek, and Sawyers Bar. That’s in addition to Cecilville, Summerville, and Petersburg. In the Coffee Creek area, evacuation orders are reduced to warnings. On Friday gusty winds of 30 miles an hour are expected in the area.

The Antelope Fire is burning in the Antelope Creek Drainage east of Mount Shasta. It’s 145,200 acres, with containment back up to 70% containment. Evacuations remain for areas east of Forest Road 15, Davis Road, south of Bonita Butte, west of Fourmile Hill, north of Little Glass Mountain, and Medicine Lake.

The McCash Fire in a remote area of the Marble Mountain Wilderness in the area of Ten Bear Mountain and McCash Creek has burned 80,600 acres with 10% containment.
