The Monument Fire has burned 217,120 acres and containment is now 50%. 50 structures have been destroyed. 6 firefighters have been injured. Evacuations have been reduced to warnings for all areas along Hyampom Road from Cedar Gulch to Highway 3, and Highway 3 through Hayfork to Big Creek Road, as well as south of Hyampom Road to Salt Creek Growers and southwest of Jesse Road and Tule Creek Road. Evacuations remain in effect for Denny Road, Helena/East Fork, Hobo Gulch, Big Mountain Road and Big French Creek Road. Traffic on highway 299 is being escorted through the fire zone between Burnt Ranch and Del Loma by a pilot car every one-and-a-half hours between 7AM and 7PM weekdays and at the top of every hour on weekends. At night traffic is now being escorted through continuously in both directions, with delays of 30 to 40 minutes.
