A fire prompted evacuations in Tehama County southwest of Cottonwood Monday. Located off View Drive and Digger Pine Road, the “View Fire” was stopped at 24 acres, according to Cal-Fire, who says it’s now 50% contained. Fire crews Monday reported still significant spotting threats due to the wind. At least one structure estimated at 1000 square feet was heavily involved in flames when crews arrived and others were threatened. Evacuations had been ordered for Joe Dog Lane, Westview Way and Poppy Lane. They’ve been reduced to warnings.
