Redding Rancheria is making the holidays brighter for about 500 families in Shasta and Trinity Counties. A turkey and toys giveaway is taking place Thursday from 9AM to 3AM. The recipients were selected from an online application process and will arrive at staggered times to minimize chaos and maximize social distancing. The last time the tribe did a giveaway like this, it was first-come, first-served and generated a lot of problems. Thursday’s event will be at the Community Center next to Win River Casino. Tribal Council Chairman Jack Potter says the tribe gets a lot of satisfaction from sharing their prosperity with the community.
